To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Beastie Boys' Licensed to Ill album, here are some rare outtakes from our cover shoot with them, back when Sarah and I took some very large rolls of paper on the Eurostar to Brussels. We created a makeshift studio in the basement of the venue and Money Mark was our lighting assistant. Catering gave us foil for reflection. It's all glam with us, you know.
And here's a little trick, to capture a relaxed subject just have them breathe out gently as you take the shot. The boys really went for it:
